In this 15-hour course, you will learn how to leverage the power of Grasshopper, to generate custom code for controlling the path of 6 axis robot arms. The students will be in charge of manipulating the robots under our supervision and designing a chair that will be 3d printed at real size with an industrial pellet extruder attached to a robot arm.
STRUCTURE
Module #1: Introduction to robot arms and their configuration inside Grasshopper in its most common workflows.
Module #2: Understanding how to 3D print at large scale with a robot arm. The students will design one chair or similar object and it will be 3D printed in real size.
Module #3: Related to controlling other types of end effectors as well as their paths and planes for the robot to be moved.
We will use two different ABB robot arms:
ABB IRB-140 and ABB IRB-6620 with the ABB language robot Rapid.
