Creative Paths with Robots

September 26 @ 8:00 am - September 28 @ 1:00 pm CEST

€345 – €495

In this 15-hour course, you will learn how to leverage the power of Grasshopper, to generate custom code for controlling the path of 6 axis robot arms. The students will be in charge of manipulating the robots under our supervision and designing a chair that will be 3d printed at real size with an industrial pellet extruder attached to a robot arm.

This course in managed by Controlmad in collaboration with Lowpoly.

Lowpoly offers a comprehensive design service specializing in digital manufacturing and innovation, adapting to the needs of each client. They care about recycling and reusing manufacturing scraps as printing material for their product line.

STRUCTURE

Module #1: Introduction to robot arms and their configuration inside Grasshopper in its most common workflows.

Module #2: Understanding how to 3D print at large scale with a robot arm. The students will design one chair or similar object and it will be 3D printed in real size.

Module #3: Related to controlling other types of end effectors as well as their paths and planes for the robot to be moved.

We will use two different ABB robot arms:

ABB IRB-140 and ABB IRB-6620 with the ABB language robot Rapid.
