DESCRIPTION:Combine the flexibility of Grasshopper with the precision of G-code. Aimed to generate custom G-code for controlling 3 axis FDM 3d printers\, that could also be applied to other CNC machines as milling machines. \nPROGRAM \nThe course is scheduled in 6 modules\, 3 per day: \nModule #1 is an introduction to G-Code’s structure\, firmware\, FDM 3d printing and its configuration inside Grasshopper in its most common workflows. \nModule #2 understands the main G orders in G-code and we will set a first file in Grasshopper for custom 3D printing using spiralized mode. \nModule #3 is related to visualization\, non-planar 3d printing with isocurves and the consequent variable flow. \nModule #4 adds more complex features as bases\, travels and retractions in Grasshopper. \nModule #5 works on wavy models\, attractors using pictures\, and wireframe mode. \nModule #6 explains some study cases\, as well as some time for questions and doubts of the attendance.

El alumno de nuestro curso Rhino presencial y online aprenderá los conceptos bases de modelado 3D con Rhino\, interfaz y a levantar modelos 3D sencillos con distintas estrategias simples editando sólidos. Después se pasará a ejercicios con superficies complejas y extracción de información para fabricación digital. Aunque emplearemos fundamentalmente geometría NURBS\, la base de Rhino\, veremos otras entidades geométricas como SubD para modelado orgánico o mallas. \n> SEGUNDA PARTE. Representación y renderizado\nMuestra las herramientas más interesantes de animación\, dibujo 2D\, generación de capturas de pantalla… junto con el motor de render de Rhino muy mejorado en las últimas versiones. De manera introductoria se explicará cómo asignar materiales. \n> TERCERA PARTE. Diseño Paramétrico\nBreve introducción al plugin Grasshopper para Rhino. Grasshopper es un editor gráfico algorítmico\, integrado en Rhino y en sus herramientas de modelado. Este software potencia las funciones del programa base\, gracias a su forma de trabajo paramétrico. A diferencia de RhinoScript\, Grasshopper no requiere conocimientos de programación o scripting para permitir al diseñador trabajar de forma generativa y paramétrica. Se trata de ver las principales diferencias respecto al modelado tradicional de Rhino y cómo interactúa con el mismo. \n> CUARTA PARTE. Fabricación Digital\nPara terminar el curso Rhino de Diseño online y/o presencial\, se hará una introducción a los principales métodos de fabricación digital y sus herramientas mediante videos y ejercicios. DESCRIPTION:The course   is offered in a hybrid format. Participants may choose to take only the first part through online sessions\, or complete the entire course. The second part can be attended either in person or online\, according to the participant’s preference. \nIn this edition\, the course is offered in a hybrid format. Participants may choose to take only the first part through online sessions\, or complete the entire course. The second part can be attended either in person or online\, according to the participant’s preference. \nPROGRAM\nThe course is organized in an intensive way so any student without previous knowledge in 3D modeling or Rhino\, may get a solid base for going into parametric design. For that\, we use Grasshopper\, a free graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3-D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript\, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting\, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe-inspiring. \nLast week\, the work is more intensive to learn the different advantages of using digital fabrication systems. \nStudents not only learn how to 3D model\, but also will implement various strategies to obtain structures of complex models\, analyze\, calculate\, interact with the physical environment etc. with the chance of manufacture different models with CNC technology\, like cutting laser\, milling machine and 3D printers. The final goal is to create\, design and 3D model a cool object\, prototype or sculpture using Rhino and Grasshopper and make it real with the digital machines we have. \nBasic prototyping materials are included in the course fee. \nCOURSE STRUCTURE\nThe course is divided into two parts\, with different units spread over 4 weeks: \nPART I (Online) \nUNIT 1: 3D MODELING with RHINOCEROS / 24 hours\nUNIT 2: PARAMETRIC DESIGN with GRASSHOPPER I / 24 Hours\nUNIT 3: PARAMETRIC DESIGN with GRASSHOPPER – II / 24 Hours \nPART II\, optional (Onsite / Online) \nDIGITAL FABRICATION SYSTEMS/ 28 Hours

SUMMARY:Rhino Level 2 for Jewellery Design – Certified Online Training Course
DESCRIPTION:Following on from the Beginner Rhino Level 1 for Jewellery Design course\, this jewellery CAD training course is intended for those already have some experience with Rhino NURBS modelling software\, and who wish to add intermediate tools and techniques onto their existing jewellery CAD design and manufacturing working process. \nThis course serves as a jewellery-specific replacement for the more general Rhino Level 2 course\, focusing on the same intermediate and advanced concepts around NURBS topology\, advanced surfacing\, SubD Modelling\, and other efficient modelling techniques for skilled users. \nWhile this course contains most of the same concepts as the Rhino Level 2 course\, the emphasis in this course has been reoriented towards working within a jewellery design and manufacturing context\, so the exercises and emphasis on choice of tools and problem-solving strategies have been adjusted accordingly. All trainees receive an Official Certificate on completion and all courses are delivered by the most experienced Rhino trainers in the UK. \nThis course begins by reviewing the key commands and solid modelling strategies as discussed in the Rhino Level 1 for Jewellery course. We then break down the fundamental logic of controlling NURBS surfaces in Rhino\, and how to use this information to build clean\, optimised geometry and control freeform shapes for NURBS surface sculpture and filigree. \nWe then introduce the Rhino SubD interface along with a building strategy for using these new SubD tools to complement your solid and surface modelling strategies. Throughout these exercises\, we will discuss important tolerance considerations for 3D printing models to use in precious metals casting. We will also discuss advanced mesh controls for exporting STL files for rapid prototyping (such as 3D printing).
